PISCES SPORTFISHING REPORT

March 27 – April 2, 2026, marks this week’s fishing report, summarizing conditions and catches in the area around Los Cabos.
From March 27 to April 2, 2026, boats in the Los Cabos region experienced clear skies and generally calm seas, making conditions ideal for anglers. Although water conditions stayed steady, moderate winds picked up midweek. Still, offshore catches remained active, with large Wahoo, Striped Marlin, Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, and a few Skipjack caught, while inshore anglers landed nice-sized Roosterfish up to 25 pounds.

Friday, March 27, brought calm seas, light winds of 9 mph, and air temperatures between 75 and 78°F for the 66-foot Viking, “Friday Bank,” captained by Alex, with Mates Saul and Beto assisting, who reported a productive outing. Anglers, including Chad Davidson, Isaac Allen Davidson, Jack Allen, Matthew Allen, and Thomas Eestrem, closed the day with a count of nine Yellowfin Tuna weighing 15 to 20 pounds, caught on palo and curry near San Jaime Bank.





The 31-foot Bertram, the “Rebecca,” with Captain José Ramón Alucano and Mate Marcelo, delivered an exceptional fishing day by releasing two Striped Marlin of 130 to 140 pounds, five Dorado ranging from 20 to 38 pounds, and a 52‑pound Wahoo, all taken approximately 22 miles south of San Jaime on ballyhoo. Anglers Andrew Ehrenberg, Kristine Sino, and Nick Sino, from Cabo San Lucas, reported earlier in the week that on Tuesday, March 24, the “Rebecca” and other Pisces Fleet boats encountered unusually large Wahoo, including fish of 52, 60+, and 72 pounds, along with sizeable Mahi (Dorado).

Saturday, March 28, also featured clear skies, calm seas, and light winds of 5 mph, with water temperatures at 72°F. The, La Coronita,” a 40-foot Cabo Express, including Carson Massie, Christina Davis, Eileen Pollet, Mily Grace Flory, Katherine Kimmerle, and Lindsay Dawson, along with Captain Manuel Sr., and Mate Manuel Jr., released one Striped Marlin around 100 to 120 pounds and landed three Dorado between 25 and 38 pounds at San Jaime on ballyhoo.
The “Bill Collector 2,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge with Captain Abel at the helm and Mate Ninja overseeing the cockpit, released three Striped Marlin weighing from 100 to 120 pounds on ballyhoo and Kite combinations near San Jaime and Faro (the Lighthouse), along with two Skipjack of 4 to 5 pounds. Anglers were Miguel A. Ortiz, Miguel Ortiz, Pablo Ortiz, and Vanessa Ortiz.
On Sunday, March 29, conditions remained excellent with water temperatures between 72 and 76°F. The 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, “Caliente,” captained by Jaime and Mate Silverio, released two Striped Marlin of 90 to 100 pounds and landed four Dorado in the 15 to 25-pound range, along with eleven Yellowfin Tuna of 10 to 12 pounds, all at San Jaime Bank.

The 31-foot Bertram, “Ruthless,” with Captain Bruce and anglers Frank Chapman and Scott Ortiz, who traveled from Kelly, Wyoming, released two Striped Marlin weighing 120 to 130 pounds, plus they landed four Dorado weighing between 12 and 35 pounds on cocinero near San Jaime.

The “Tiburón,“ a 31-foot Bertram, captained by Super Chendo and Super Mario, also headed to the San Jaime. Anglers included Alejandro Álvarez, Daniel Peña, José Manuel Álvarez, José Miguel Álvarez, and José Pablo Álvarez of Cabo San Lucas, who released one 100 to 110-pound Striped Marlin, and landed three Dorado of 10 to 30 pounds, along with four Yellowfin Tuna of 5 to 10 pounds, all at San Jaime Bank.

The 35 Cabo Flybridge, “Bill Collector 3,” captained by Jean Carlo and Mates Jean Ramón and Abel, reported a successful day when anglers Alfredo Aguirre, Jeff Tessar, and Santiago Aguirre, released one 70-pound Striped Marlin, landed two Dorado of 15 to 25 pounds, along with sixteen 8 to 20-pound Yellowfin Tuna on a variety of techniques including bait, lures, and Kite presentations below San Jaime.

Monday, March 30, once again featured water temperatures of 70-73°F, clear skies, and calm seas. Captain Erick Orozco, with Mate José Ramiro Ramírez aboard the 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, “Hot Rod,” and anglers including David Bruner, Donald Mebust, Gregory Butler, Jeffrey Bruner, Nathan Thompson, Ryan Murphy, and Tyler Mebust, landed two Dorado of 8 to 30 pounds on lures and ballyhoo below San Jaime.
On Tuesday, March 31, seas became more moderate with winds increasing around 14 to 18 mph. However, skies remained clear. The 29-foot Blackfin “El Cazador,” captained by Carmelo with Mate Luis, ran to the San Jaime Bank, where angler Tanner Pace, who traveled from Ogden, Utah, released three 90 to 110-pound Striped Marlin and landed two Dorado of 10 to 15 pounds on ballyhoo.

The 30-foot Bertram, “Karina” with Captain Bruce and Mate Rual, welcomed the group, Chris Schindler, Dane Schindler, Lance Jearrisen, and MacAlister Schindler from Prior Lake, Minnesota, who landed two Dorado weighing around 15 pounds on ballyhoo and currican outside the two Lighthouses.
Wednesday, April 1, continued to bring clear skies and calm seas; however, slightly higher waves at 5 to 6 feet and winds of 15 to 16 mph prevailed.
Anglers Adam Smith, Drew Marquardt, Heather Marquardt, Isaac Smith, Jennifer Smith, Jordan Smith, Luke Marquardt, and Silas Smith from Leo, Indiana, who chartered the 42-foot Bertram, the “Yahoo,” captained by Ricardo with Mates José Escamilla, Marcos, and Esteban, released two Striped Marlin, approximately 40 and 90 pounds on currican and ballyhoo at the 1150 Spot.
Thursday, April 2, continued to bring outstanding weather, although the seas remained a bit grumpy and the slightly stronger winds remained.
Captain Chuy Romero and Mate Brian reported a successful outing on the 28-foot Uniflite, “Andrea,” for anglers Emile Vargas, Jorge Vargas, and Simon Vargas who traveled from Basalt, Colorado. They released six Roosterfish ranging from 15 to 25 pounds, all taken on caballito in front of the Hotel Presidente.

Meanwhile, the 30-foot Bertram, “Karina,” with Captain Bruce and Mate Rual, also had anglers visiting from Colorado. Christine Julius, Jacob Julius, and Mike Julius caught and released five Striped Marlin on caballito ranging from 100 to 120 pounds, taken at the 1150 Spot.
Overall, the week delivered excellent fishing conditions and strong catch diversity, highlighted by consistent Striped Marlin releases, steady Dorado action, and notable Yellowfin Tuna counts. The standout event of the period was the exceptional Wahoo activity earlier in the week, producing some of the largest seen this season.
