Cheryl and Ralph Boedigheimer, clients who chartered the “VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram, with Captain Roberto Sandez and Mate Salvador Flores, could not have had a better captain and mate. They ran to the area outside the Piedra of Nickolai, where they hit the jackpot, catching and releasing one 120-pound Striped Marlin on a mackerel, one Dorado on a mackerel weighing around 12 pounds, and 10 Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 6 to 35 pounds on bait.

Thomas Lang from California joined Captain Julio Castro and Mate TracyAnn Raul fishing on the “TRACY ANN,” a 31-foot Bertram. He had an eventful day, catching and releasing one Striped Marlin weighing approximately 110 pounds on a mackerel, one 25 to 35-pound Dorado, also on a mackerel, and eight Yellowfin Tuna weighing in the 15 to 40-pound range on bait 30 miles outside of the 180 Spot. The fishing day was promising from the beginning, and it only got better.

From Locust Grove, Georgia, David Strickland and Mark Peterson chartered the “EL CAZADOR,” a 29-foot Black Fin, with Captain Carmelo, who was ready to meet these eager anglers. The captain chose one of his favorite fishing Spots, the Cerro del Golden, and they immediately caught and released a 120-pound (more or less) Striped Marlin on a lure. Their next stop got them three Dorado in the 10 to 15-pound range on lures, and their final stop that day was for a large 44.5-pound Wahoo, all taken at the Cerro del Golden on lures, the Wahoo on a Rapala. What a great time they had! Plus, the fishing was productive.

While on the “MY WAY,” a 48-foot Viking, Captain Daniel and Mate Josue were delighted to have a great, fun-loving group join them. Daija and Dre Volker, Robert Velek, Robson Velek, Royce Velek, Shari Letsos, and Thomas Volker had an exciting time catching and releasing a 100-pound Striped Marlin. Their excitement was evident as they celebrated the catch, and they enjoyed the camaraderie that came with their successful day.

Captain Juan Carlos and Mate Erick Jr. are two of the best skippers you will meet. They run the “BILL COLLECTOR,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, and enjoy every moment that they are on the water. When they met Dan Bergsren and Dan Markin, they took an instant liking to the two men and headed straight to the Lighthouse, where they were able to get the anglers one 100-pound Striped Marlin on a lure, and when it looked as though the bite had dried up, they headed to one of their favorite Spots, the San Jaime. There, the two fishermen caught eleven Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 10 to 25 pounds on bait, and two 30 to 35-pound Wahoo on Rapalas at the San Jaime.

On “CALIENTE,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, Captain Jaime and Mate Silverio and a group from Corpus Christi, Texas, had a great day. Captain Jaime and Silverio are very experienced and skilled members of the Pisces fleet and knew from reports that the La Brecha Spot was their best bet on Sunday. So, when Amelia, Paul Aston III, Paul Aston IV, and Vanessa Aston came aboard the CALIENTE, they headed the boat in the direction of the La Brecha Spot, and off they went! Their anglers left the boat that afternoon with bragging rights to three 120-pound Striped Marlin and one 80-pound Sailfish that they caught and released. Plus, they caught six Dorado that weighed between 15 and 25 pounds, all taken at La Brecha on Ballyhoo. They had a successful fishing day.

Captain Arturo and Mates Daniel and Josue have fished together for several years on the “MY WAY,” a 48-foot Viking. Fishing on their boat is truly unbelievable. At least, that is what the group from North Carolina was saying, after fishing with them on Monday. Frank Cowey, Mike Cookson, Pat Boyle, Patrick Boyle III, and Steven Boyle caught and released one 120-pound Striped Marlin on Ballyhoo at La Brecha; one 14-pound Dorado on a Lure at Migrino; and one Wahoo that weighed 25 pounds on a Rapala at Pozo Cota.

Captain Abraham and Mates Cesar and ToÑo on the “KNOT WORKIN,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, welcomed Edgar Rosalio, Jerry Gustufson, Joel Gustufson, Ken MacConkey, Kenji Jellesed, and Roger Van Winkle from Fall, Washington, aboard. It was easy to see how eager the Washington group was to get started fishing, so they headed straight to the 120 Spot. When they were 20 miles from the 120, they got their first bite and caught and released a 130-pound Striped Marlin on bait. After an exciting fight, the Tuna began showing, and they caught four Yellowfin that weighed from 18 to 145 pounds on barrilete and feathers in the same location.

Tuesday brought another excellent day on the water, with clear skies and calm seas setting the stage for more exciting fishing adventures. Conditions were ideal, with gentle winds and warm temperatures. It was a comfortable, fun day for all aboard. “VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram run by Captain Roberto Sandez and Mate Salvador Flores, had a lady angler from Austin, Texas, who was ready to get started on Tuesday morning. Kathy Morris first caught a beautiful Dorado on feathers, and it’s a good thing she began with a lightweight, because it was followed by thirteen Yellowfin Tuna that weighed between five and 25 pounds, which she caught on bait and feathers. Her trophy fish that day was one 45-pound Wahoo that was caught on curry. All were caught at the San Jaime.
“RUTHLESS,” a 31-foot Bertram with Captain Beto Lira and Mate Chuy, enjoyed the anglers they had aboard on Tuesday. Dan Bergsren and Dan Markin caught and released one 100-pound Striped Marlin on mackerel at the Los Arcos site before they began catching Dorado. Between the two of them, they caught (and released) thirty-seven Dorado that weighed up to 20 pounds on bait and cuchis at the Los Arcos. As the afternoon progressed, the bite remained steady, with anglers frequently hooking up and reeling in fish with impressive consistency. Spirits were high, and everyone enjoyed sharing stories about their catches and admiring the vibrant colors of the Dorado. By late afternoon, the deck was bustling with activity as the crew worked together to safely release their catches and prepare for another round of action.

A group from San Antonio, Texas, Autumn Martens, Becca Espey, Jeff Richard, and Mark Espey, chose the “KARINA,” a 30-foot Bertram, with Captain Bruce and Mate Jorge Velez to fish with on Wednesday, October 29, and they could not have chosen better. They were able to catch and release six 60 to 120-pound Striped Marlin on mackerel and sixteen Dorado on curry at the Los Arcos Spot. No one could believe their good luck, nor how skilled they were, but in either case, it will be a long time before they have another day like this one! They were extremely grateful to their crew and gave them a ton of credit for putting them in the right place at the right time.

With equally favorable conditions—clear skies, and gentle winds, “CALIENTE,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge with Captain Jaime and Mate Silverio, the anglers found themselves in the right place at the right time. Their skill and patience paid off with the catch of a 30-pound Wahoo on ballyhoo at the Los Arcos spot. They also caught and released a 90-pound Striped Marlin at Margaritas and had the thrilling release of a 180-pound Blue Marlin at Los Arcos. The camaraderie among Frank Cowey, Mike Cookson, Pat Boyle, and Patrick III Boyle was evident as they celebrated each victory, sharing stories and laughter. At the same time, the sun glinted off the calm sea—a continuation of an unforgettable week on the water.

For a HALF-DAY TRIP, Marshall Cromer from Oakland, California, chose the “MY WAY,” a 48-foot Viking, captained by Arturo with Mates Daniel and Josue. They had an exciting day at the Punta Gorda Spot when they caught two monster Yellowfin Tuna, one weighing 90 pounds and one weighing 214 pounds. They completed the job in a remarkably short amount of time, showcasing the excellent teamwork among the anglers and crew.
The following day continued the streak of remarkable fishing. The “TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram, with Captain Rosendo Gomez and Mate Super Mario, ventured 22 miles out to the 120 spot and found great success. Darrell Gast, Dean Landers, Joseph Chathan, and Kerri Dean hauled in an impressive catch, landing fourteen Yellowfin Tuna ranging from 8 to 25 pounds on bait and various lures. They also managed to hook a Wahoo weighing between 30 and 35 pounds on a lure, adding to the excitement of their trip.
