Weather and sea conditions were consistently favorable throughout the week, with clear skies, calm seas, and optimal water temperatures for offshore angling. Multiple boats across the fleet reported successful outings, with notable catches including Striped Marlin, Dorado, Wahoo, Roosterfish, Tuna, and various inshore species. The summaries below document boat performance, crew participation, angler names and origins, and catch results for each day.
Friday, April 3, 2026

"BBII," a 37-foot Viking Billfish

Under clear skies and calm seas with 2 to 4-foot waves, water temperatures between 71 and 75°F, air temperatures from 70 to 77°F, and winds ranging from 3 to 20 knots, the “BBII,” a 37-foot Viking Billfish, captained by Gil with Mates Hector and Lalo, had an impressive day at the 1150 Spot. Clients Andre Camacho, Antonio Martinez, Edwin Bareño, Francisco Rosas Martinez, Joel Cervantes, and Jose Francisco Rosas released 10 Striped Marlin, weighing between 100 and 120 pounds, all caught on ballyhoo and cocinero. They enjoyed the excellent action.

Nearby, the “Bill Collector 4,” a 35-ft. Cabo Flybridge with Captain JC Lopez, and Mates Juan and Erick Jr., also found success at the 1150 Spot, releasing 8 Striped Marlin between 80 and 130 lbs. on ballyhoo and curry, and boating one 20-25-lb. Dorado on ballyhoo. Angler Linda Policarpio of Pleasant Hill, California, was aboard for the productive outing.

Saturday, April 4, 2026

"La Brisa," a 31-ft. Bertram

Clear skies and calm seas continued, with wave heights increasing to 5 ft., water temperatures rising to 71 to 77°F, and air temperatures holding between 70 to 76°F, under winds of 2 to 15 knots—the “La Brisa,” a 31-ft. Bertram, with Captain Bruce M. and Mate Noe D. in charge, welcomed anglers Marshall Cromer of Oakland, California, and Duncan McDonald of El Paso, Texas. They released two Striped Marlin, 100 and 120 lbs., on ballyhoo and curry at the 1150 Spot and added two 15 and 20-lb. Dorado on Rapala and ballyhoo near the Iman Bank.

The “My Way,” a 48-ft. Viking, captained by Arturo S., with Mates Daniel S. and Josue R. assisting, landed a 35 to 40 lb. Wahoo on Rapala at the Iman for anglers Marshall Cromer of Oakland, California, and Duncan McDonald of El Paso, Texas.

Sunday, April 5, 2026

Even though the skies remained clear and the seas were calm, the swells were slightly heavier, at 5-6 ft. Water temperatures climbed to 71–78°F and air temperatures to 70–78°F, accompanied by winds of 2–19 knots.


On the “BBII,” Captain Osiel and Mate Joel repeated a strong performance at the 1150 Spot, releasing ten Striped Marlin of 100–120 lbs. on ballyhoo and cocinero for anglers Jake Snyder, Mack Massad, and Wade Masad of Rocky River, Ohio.

Inshore, Captain José Ruiz and Mate César, running the 24-ft. panga “Anamar II,” produced a diverse catch. Ian Haig and James Haig of England caught four Roosterfish between 20 and 25 lbs. on liza, two 2–3 lb. Bonito on cuchy, one 2–3 lb. Grouper on chum tule, and six Ladyfish of 1–2 lbs., also on chum tule at Morros Prietos. Everyone enjoyed the productive day on the water.

"La Chingona 2  a 64-ft. Viking

Monday, April 6, 2026—clear skies and calm seas persisted with 4 to 5-ft waves and light winds of 5 mph. Water temperatures ranged from 69 to 78°F, and air temperatures stayed steady at 77–80°F.—and on the “La Chingona 2, of Paradise Valley, Arizona, a 64-ft. Viking, captained by Toño, a group from Paradise Valley, Arizona, including Grayson Pritchett, James Duke Moffett, James R. Moffett Jr., and Jason O’Neal Pritchett, delivered excellent results at the Punta Gorda. Releasing eight Striped Marlin weighing between 100 and 120 lbs. on ballyhoo, cocinero, and curry, plus adding six Yellowfin Tuna from 8 to 40 lbs. on palo and popper setups outside Punta Gorda, the anglers enjoyed the varied action.

"El Cazador," a 29 ft. Blackfin

Ben Cano, Isabell Cano, Louie F. Cano, and Louie O. Cano IV of Rolling Hills Estates, California, chartered the “El Cazador,” a 29 ft. Blackfin captained by Carmelo and Mate Luis, caught and released five Striped Marlin weighing approximately 78 to 120 lbs., taken on ballyhoo while fishing the 1150 Spot.

Tuesday, April 7, 2026, brought clear skies and calm seas. With 5-6 ft waves, water at 74°F, air at 75-76°F, and light winds at 8 knots, fishing conditions were excellent.

42-ft. Cabo Flybridge "CALIENTE,"

Aboard the 42-ft. Cabo Flybridge “CALIENTE,” Captain Jaime, and Mate Silverio were eager to reach the 1150 Spot. There, Brandan Hentz, Chace Krueger, Isaiah Hentz, Kade Hentz, Troy Hentz, and Zane Hentz, from Hankinson, North Dakota, caught and released five Striped Marlin from 90 to 100 lbs.

 "TIBURON," a 31-ft. Bertram

Brody Music, Case Music, Chris Music, Gibbons Cornwell, and Wylie Music from Vaughn, Montana, chose the “TIBURON,” a 31-ft. Bertram, with  Captain Rosendo Gomez and Mate Carlos Santos, for their trip on Tuesday. They released two Striped Marlin, weighing  90 to 100 lbs., and caught one 10 to 12-lb. Roosterfish on cocinero.

Wednesday, April 8, 2026

The Cabo skies remained clear, the seas were calm, the swells backed off to a high of 6 ft., and the water temperatures dropped to 72°F, with air temperatures of 73°F and 74°F, accompanied by 18-knot winds.

"HOT ROD," a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge

Captained by Jose Ramiro Ramírez with mate Daniel Alcaraz on a HALF DAY Charter, aboard the “HOT ROD,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, successfully landed one Striped Marlin weighing between 110 and 120 pounds at the 95 Spot, as well as one Dorado weighing between 30 and 35 pounds at the same location. The anglers on board were Brian Weick, Bryon Kelly, Humberto Maio, Jeff Blaszyk, John Laughter, and Mike McAbee, all from Atlanta, Georgia.

While on the “EL CAZADOR,” a 29-ft. Black Fin, Captain Carmelo, and Mate Luis welcomed anglers Bin Lang and Susan Lang from Seattle, Washington, and headed to the 1150 Spot, where they successfully released four Striped Marlin weighing between 100 and 120 lbs. on ballyhoo.

Thursday, April 9, 2026, brought calm seas and clear skies, with waves up to 4 ft. and winds around 10 mph. Water temperature remained at 72°F, and air temperature was mild, between 73 and 74°F.

Aboard the 62-foot Viking, “CHASIN TAIL,” with Captain Pepe at the Helm and Mates Ulises, Ramon, and Dulce attending to the clients and overseeing the cockpit, long-time clients and friends, Jim and Ann Anderson from Reno, Nevada, enjoyed an exceptional day at the 1150 Spot. They successfully landed and released seven Striped Marlin weighing 100 to 110 pounds, one Silky Shark weighing 120 pounds, and boated one Wahoo weighing 60 pounds. Their skills and tenacity contributed to the remarkable results of this outing.
