This time of year is probably one of the most fun times of year in Cabo San Lucas! Kids have their first vacations after the New Year’s, the weather is fantastic, and we also have Easter holidays, which is a big deal in Mexico. For most residents, celebrations of Easter in Mexico is a combination of Semana Santa, Holy Week, which lasts from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, and Easter week or Semana de Pascua, which lasts from Resurrection Sunday until the following Saturday. During these two weeks schools have holidays and many people go on their Spring vacations.
I love this time of year because my children are out of school and we get to spend more quality time together, visit different places or just have fun on the beach.
This past Easter weekend we decided to have some beach fun and went to snorkel at the Pelican’s Rock, near the Lover’s Beach. The ocean temperature was very pleasant and clear, so we could see a lot of marine life, colorful fish and even a lovely seahorse. After snorkeling we enjoyed the sun at the Lover’s beach, then returned to the marina for a delicious brick oven made pizza at Captain Tony’s to wrap up the great day with laughter, stories about school, next projects, and beaches we would explore in the following days.
Me and my kids love snorkeling, and if you like snorkeling as well, I can share with you my three favorite snorkeling spots: Chileno Bay, Santa Maria beach and Pelican’s Rock. I love living in Los Cabos, as it allows me to go to the beach and snorkel practically every day, and from every place in Cabo I only have about 10 minutes to the beach (maximum). I guess it’s true what they say – Life is better by the beach, and me and my kids try to live it fully every day!
