If large Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Striped Marlin, Dorado, Roosterfish, and Bonito are on your bucket list, welcome to Cabo!It’s a testament to the Pisces Fleet’s expertise that they have caught such a diverse range of species this week. They are proud to take their customers to catch whatever is biting, offering an exciting variety of fish to target. The water temperatures are still warming, with most of our high spots averaging around 71 to 75 degrees. Offshore, water temperatures range from 75 to 77 degrees.
That said, we are finally seeing more Striped Marlin coming in closer to our grounds. Many boats looking for Marlin are fishing a few miles offshore and covering the grounds in between. Some of our guys reported hooking into Marlin as close as six miles from shore. These Marlin were caught on lures or bait and rigged with ballyhoo.

Kyle Brooks, from California, chartered the “Adriana,” a 28-foot Uniflite, with Captain Frank and Mate Arturo. The crew’s years of experience, exceptional skills, and the angler’s excellent fishing abilities led to the catch and release of nine Striped Marlin, weighing 100 to 140 pounds on bait and feathers. This outstanding day of fishing serves as an inspiration for others to book their successful trips.
Captain Carmelo and Mates Brian and Juan on the “EL CAZADOR,” a 29-foot Black Fin, had their angler, Pancho Bojorquez, from Cabo San Lucas, BCS, MX, catch and release two 100 to 120-pound Striped Marlin on Ballyhoo, and three 10 to 15-pound Yellowfin Tuna on bait at the 95 Spot. They had a fun day, filled with the excitement of their catch!
Captain Lopez and Mate Martinez welcomed John Williams and Nancy Scouler from San Diego aboard the “BILL COLLECTOR II,” a 31-foot Bertram. They headed straight for the Herradura, where the guests caught fourteen Yellowfin Tuna in the 10 to 20-pound range. It could not have been a more enjoyable day.

Friday Bank a 48-foot Viking with Captain Arturo, Crew Daniel, and Josue, enjoys fishing. So they headed outside the Herradura, where they were sure to be successful in catching the species their guest, Marshall Cromer, from Oakland, California, was targeting. They caught one Dorado on a feather, ten Yellowfin Tuna on bait and feathers, one Mako Shark weighing around 40 pounds on a Ballyhoo, and a 40-pound Wahoo on a Rapala. All were caught just outside the Herradura. What a day Marshall Cromer enjoyed! His Captain and crew were outstanding, and the day was perfect!

ON A HALF-DAY TRIP, the ‘VALERIE,‘ a 35-foot Bertram, with the experienced Captain Jr. and skilled Mate Salvador Flores, took their fun-loving guests, Leo Li and Sarah Balderston from Diamond Bar, California, to the Herradura, where they caught a trophy-sized, 45-pound Wahoo on a lure. More and more of the larger-sized Wahoo are found in this area.
“TRACY ANN,” a 31-foot Bertram with Captain Julio Castro and Mate Tracy Ann Raul Leal, had a variety of fish to choose from when they went out on Sunday. They took their guests, Dave Smith, Jim Ellashek, Jr., and Jim Ellashek, Sr., from Duncanville, Dallas, TX, to the Los Arcos Spot where they found a 20-pound Shark, three Roosterfish, and a 30-pound Yellowtail. The diverse catch made for a memorable day on the water.|

Captain Abel and Mate Daniel took their group, consisting of Grayson Gettys, Jack Bento, Kathryn Gettys, Melissa Gettys, Reid Gettys, and Stewart Gettys, out on the “C ROD,” a 38-foot Blackfin, eight miles to Los Arcos del Cerro. There, they caught and released one 140-pound Striped Marlin, a Wahoo, Skipjack, and six Bonito, all on bait. It was a fun day, with the weather cooperating and the seas remaining calm. But more importantly, the fish were biting!

Howard Matzdorf and Matthew Winquist from Seattle, Washington, booked the “RUTHLESS,” a 31-foot Bertram, run by Captain Fernando and Mate Jesus Romero, for the day and ran to the 95 Spot. They caught two Yellowfin Tuna and a 44-pound Wahoo on Rapalas. They were very excited to catch the big fish, as they had heard of them, but had never caught such a large Wahoo. It was a very successful day for the Seattle anglers.

Gary Hall and Sasan Hall from Snohomish Washington chose the “TRACY ANN,” a 31-foot Bertram, with Captain Julio Castro and Mate Tracy Ann Raul Leal to fish from and headed out to the outside of the Herradura where they caught and released a 100-pound Striped Marlin plus they caught a 15-pound Yellowfin Tuna on the lucky Mango lure! They thought the fishing had been productive, and they had a delightful day!

“LA CHINGONA 2,” a 64-foot Viking, with Captain TOÑO and Mates Miguel and Daniel, headed to the Cabrillo Mount where they caught and released a 100-pound Striped Marlin, one 15-pound Dorado, six Yellowfin Tuna from 12 to 25 pounds, and two Wahoo weighing 45 and 55 pounds, all on bait. Captain Antonio Bojorquez, from Cabo San Lucas, had quite a successful fishing day!
Bobbie Boone, Chris Caron, Jennifer Pierce, and Tanner Nettleship chartered the “BBII,” a 37-foot Viking Billfish 2018, with Captain Hector, Mates Gil, and Eduardo. They like getting to know their clients and enjoy their fishing careers. They caught nine Yellowfin Tuna, weighing up to 12 pounds, on lures and bait, and one big Wahoo, weighing 56.5 pounds, on a lure below the 1150 Spot. The big Wahoo was a surprise for the anglers and kept them on their toes as they battled it successfully.

The fish-loving Captain Bruce Montano and Mate Jorge Velez welcomed their guests Bill Aurelius, Bob Orlando, Frank Sample, Sr., and Frank Thomas, from Miami, Florida, aboard the “KARINA,” a 30-foot Bertram. Then, they headed to the 1150 Spot, where they caught Thirty Yellowfin Tuna, up to 10 pounds, on feathers and bait. The day had been rewarding.

“RUTHLESS,” a 31-foot Bertram, run by Captain Beto Lira and Mate Super Mario, had a Miami, Florida group, including Ben Weaver, John Westine, and John Westine, Jr., on board when they caught and released two 120-pound Striped Marlin on bait and two Yellowfin Tuna also on bait at the 95 Spot.

“Anmar II,” a 24-foot Panga with owner and Captain Alvaro acting as mate, had anglers David Kell and Nicholas Surh from California catch and release two 15-pound Roosterfish on caballito and eight Bonito up to 4 pounds on feathers at the Cabeza de Ballena. Captain Alvaro is easy-going, and his fun nature added to their successful and enjoyable experience.
