Billfish numbers this week more than doubled with 62 Marlin Released for a total of 47 boats. Dorado numbers remained pretty close to last week, but we saw some decent size fish once again, with most Dorado between 20 and 30 lbs each. Still some action for those looking to fish inshore, with Sierra Mackerel still around and some bottom fish. No yellowfin tuna yet, only Skipjack tuna.
This week however we had a special event take place. Several of our Pisces vessels participated in the 76th Ocean City Light Tackle Club Derby (OCLT). This is a tournament that takes place over the course of 3 days with anglers proving their light tackle abilities using only dead bait for Billfish releases. The angler with the most points is named the winner of the derby. There are also prizes for the top boats, with Pisces 31’ Tracy Ann taking 1st place and Pisces 35’ Bill Collector 2 taking 2nd place. Congratulations to all participating anglers and crews!
